I posted my issue in the Netgear user forums and have yet to receive a response. I posted my issue on the Plex user forum and it appears they deleted it. Having spent nearly the entire day searching for a workaround it appears to me that this is flaw in the Plex for Netgear app. Do I want to do this for 100's of albums, NO. So I can play music tracks, but there is no cover art for any of them unless I manually upload it to the app from my ReadyNas storage device. My issue occurred when the Plex App started downloading metadata for album cover art, yes it downloads, no it does not display on the media server. I was able to download the Plex App and establish the network shares on the router easily. I attempted to set up a newer model Netgear ReadyNas to be used as my Plex Media server. So yes the Plex app does (somewhat) work with my NAS device that is connected to the router via ethernet cables. The main reason I did it was for the Plex app. I upgraded to this Nighthawk X10 router from a Nighthawk X8 router and first let me say that there is marginal speed difference between these two routers. I simply have an overpriced router and the main reason I bought it doesn't work anymore. I've updated the firmware and have gone through the hell of resetting back to factory settings and that does not help. When the page does work, if you click on the link that leads you to the share, it will not connect, and then once you refresh the page, it goes blank again. Restarting the router helps for like 3 minutes then breaks again, on top of that it intermittently only shows one hard drive connected. So I can't even disconnect the devices properly. It will simply say "Please wait a moment" for a minute or so and then just goes blank. When I tried to see what was happening, the Page where you set up the Media server and file share (They call it ReadyShare) does not load. Accessing the drives over the network for file transfer freezes the computer because it keeps timing when trying to connect. Suddenly, my USB Hard drives are no longer found or get lost when I start streaming. I bought mainly because of the built-in Plex Server and the ability to run media over USB Drives.Įverything was OK at first. I've owned this router for about 4 months now.
